2026 / PHYSICAL AI & ROBOTICS
Thinking machines, made in a factory that can build them.
Mikawa Industry Inc. turns research-level robotics into deployments that work on the industrial floor. We handle design, AI implementation, additive manufacturing, mechanical integration and on-site installation in-house, maximizing the speed of iteration between research and deployment.
01 / RESEARCH
Joint research with universities
Through joint research with Kanazawa University and National Institute of Technology, Toyota College, we continuously keep up with research-level robotics. In May 2026, we are opening a joint lab with the Nishimura Laboratory inside the Kanazawa University Innovation Airport.
02 / COMPUTE
Edge × Cloud
Alongside cutting-edge edge inference devices such as NVIDIA DGX Spark / Jetson, we build large-scale training infrastructure on AWS cloud resources, completing Sim2Real / Real2Sim two-way loops in-house.
03 / FABRICATION
Industrial-grade additive manufacturing
We operate Carbon DLS and Markforged X7 in-house. Combining Lattice / Generative Design / Topology Optimisation on the nTop platform, we supply mechanical parts that are both light and stiff, with short lead times.
Connecting research and the floor.
Robots learn in simulation, but final behavior must be evaluated in real space. Mikawa Industry Inc. has an in-house loop that digitizes sites through reverse engineering with micron-accurate 3D scanners and the field-ready Leica BLK360 (Real2Sim), and brings policies from digital space into the physical world with trained models and actuators (Sim2Real).

Cistron Inc.
It is people who bridge academia and the field. Cistron, a Physical AI deep-tech company funded by Mikawa Industry Inc., brings together researchers and engineers as core members — including Dr. Nishimura of Kanazawa University and Soma Kaibuchi, an award-winning young engineer currently studying at National Institute of Technology, Toyota College (KOSEN Programming Contest / KOSEN Hackathon awards).
In May 2026, we opened a joint lab with the Nishimura Laboratory inside the Kanazawa University Innovation Airport. With students, researchers and field engineers working in the same place, we maximize the speed of taking research to deployment.

Our product: autonomous mobile bed robot
For the aging care industry, we have begun developing an autonomous mobile bed robot. Lightweighting with Carbon CFRP, path inference with Physical AI, site mapping with Real2Sim and motion validation with Sim2Real — we integrate our core technologies to physically reduce the burden on caregivers. Details will be announced at release.
Making heavy loads in care settings lighter, with intelligence.

Why Mikawa Industry Inc.
Research, design, additive manufacturing, machine design, PCBs, control panels, system integration, on-site installation, and licenses in six construction trades. Virtually no other company in Japan has all of this in-house and backs its operational quality with more than 300 projects a year at Toyota group plants. With six construction managers and six work supervisors on staff, we can carry out work in compliance with the All-Toyota On-Premises Work Guidelines.
To keep Physical AI from stopping at research, you need one company that takes responsibility all the way to physical deployment. Mikawa Industry Inc. is that company.
